The Delineator was first published in 1869 under the name The Metropolitan Monthly and was an American women's magazine. In 1875 the name was changed to The Delineator.
The Delineator took a close look at the popular fashion of the times. The Delineator also included clothing patterns, photos and drawings of embroidery and needlework that could be created to adorn clothing and items for the home. The Delineator also included fiction, including short stories by L. Frank Baum and articles on home decor.
